Less than 30 minutes for Path of Exile II, and the queue of players waiting for the servers to open the gates is now at 22,525. More than 1 million have purchased the early access to the game. It is going to be a rough ride!

If there a name for those of us who dislike AI generated imagery, or for the dislike of AI generated imagery in general? A composite German word would do! :-)

I share my location from my iPhone using “Find My” app with friends and family. I also have a family share, with immediate family.
Even since upgrading to iOS 18, and *every once in a while*, the location of someone sharing with me gets frozen in time. I see them, but their location doesn’t change for hours. In the case of family share, I can see their device up-to-date, under “Devices”, but they show frozen on the “People” tab. Only way to fix it is for either of us—it doesn’t matter who—to stop sharing, and start sharing again. That has happened to me with three different people, and to three different people, with others (not me).
Is anyone using iOS 18+ experiencing something similar? I have sent feedback to Apple.

Portion of the modified Twitter TOS that goes into effect today (it's on right now), as summarised (ironically) by Google's Gemini:
> "In simpler terms, this means that when you share your content (like text, images, or videos) on the service, you're giving the company permission to use it in various ways. They can copy, modify, distribute, and even use it to train their AI models. This includes sharing your content with others and using it on other platforms. You won't be paid for this, but using the service itself is considered enough compensation."

Alright. I am---actually, "we" are---out for the next couple of days. Do me a favour and stick some needles on that orange voodoo doll you got---make one, if you don't!

"You have reached a non-working number at UPS [...]" says the recording. If it is a non-working number, it wouldn't even ring, right? It should have said "You have reached an outgoing calls only number at UPS [...]", or better yet, route outgoing call only numbers to the one we should be calling instead. Problem resolved.

Serious open (for anyone) question: what makes you follow someone on twtxt? Will you just follow anyone that you come across, simply because that someone using the "decentralised, minimalist microblogging service for hackers" microblog?

Why so many Linux distributions come with Gnome as their default desktop environment? What makes Gnome so great? It has been a resource hog, in my experience.

Noticing that, after login in, I need to do a hard refresh on the browser to get my preference setting (dark mode to show). Not a show stopper, of course, but something to look at on idle time.

I noticed it almost after it was implemented, but never mention it, and I kind of feel guilty for not doing it. Yarn's search became super helpful ever since commit `2199cedf12`. Granted, it is not the full browsing experience I always dreamed for Yarn but, still, a **huge** leap forward.

I just typed something that took me a while to enter, hit post, and lost everything because I was logged out. Can that be disabled? Let me be logged in for as long as I want (or for a very long time), unless I hit logout, or account for the previously entered text, and present it (or run the post action), after having to re-login?

I just replicated the duplication of twtxts. To do so, simply click "Edit", wait for the `textarea` to come up with the post you are "editing", and navigate away. Done.

Is there something simpler, and leaner, than Gitea, which will allow me to see (as in read only) git repositories nicely on a web browser? Preferably a one-file-only solution, written in Golang.

I am supposed to come to office today, but I have caught the same cold bug wife has had for the last three days, so I am staying remote to spare cube-mates. Nose stuck, dripping, and a general slight sense of malaise is what I am feeling right now.

I have been up, and ready to go for hours. Partner is still in bed. She takes such a long time to wake up on weekends! Past noon already, and we need to get food for the elders, and come back to tidy up things to get ready for the next weekly cycle.
Ugh! Where did the weekend go?!

So, I found a few oddities while on mobile.
* From “Timeline”, I need to tap reply twice to have it fill the user’s handle being replied to.
* From “Mentions”, “Discovery”, and inside Yarns, I need to almost spam it, to have it fill the user’s handle being replied to.
That doesn’t happen while on the desktop.

I am still trying it, but I have to say—so far—nostr is a royal, and absolute, mess. As expected crypto bros everywhere, but also porn, all scams you can imagine, and more.
